What Causes Sciatic Pain Along With Pressure In The Pelvic Area?

default
Posted on Wed, 14 Sep 2016
Question: My mother who is 75 is experiencing sciatic pain along with that sciatic pain she is experiencing moderate pressure in her pelvic area from her pubic area in a U shape to her sides including the groin area and up but below her belly button. She feels a constant need to urinate but her urine stream is weak. She has seen her doctor and chiropractor and a gastroenterologist so far with no relief and no diagnosis. The chiropractor told her she has arthritis in her back. Urine tests have come back fine. CT Scan shows a mild calcium deposit in her intestine which the doctor said shouldn't be causing these issues.

Brief Answer:
Spinal cord stenosis to consider.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Symptoms you describe about your mother's condition, besides causes that have already been evaluated, may indicate spinal cord stenosis.

So, in my opinion, this condition should be evaluated further by consulting with a spine specialist and by having done a spine MRI.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
