Brief Answer:
Pap smear and culture

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

The scanty menstruation or just few drops of spotting are normal in mid 40s because of hormonal variation and decreased endometrial thickness. There will be decreased estrogen hormone which will be responsible for decreased flow as well as foul smelling discharge due to scanty menses.

I suggest following remedies:

1) Please get examined by a gynecologist to check if there is discharge associated and take high vaginal swab for culture and sensitivity test. You can take medicines based on report.

2) Please get a pap smear examination done to check if there is any cervical changes.

These 2 tests will give you the report and medicines can be prescribed based on the report.

Let me know if you have any more queries.

Regards
