What Causes Scabs And Blood Discharge After Cauterisation Of Bladder?

Question: I hah a biopsy and cauterisation in bladder due to red spots. Recovered quickly but now 7 days on i am passing what appears to be scabs and a little blood and am stinging as a consequence. Is this normal ?

Hello dear. Welcome to HCM. I have gone through the details. I would like to know yhe biopsy report. Now it seems you are having urinary infection. You require Antibiotics and lots of iv fluids. Moreover you require a check cystoscopy as bleeding is recurring.
Your symptoms will improve in due course of time. Please revert back with biopsy report.

Thank you for prompt reply. No biopsy report yet but after the procedure the consultant did say to that he was not expecting anything too bad. I seem to be passing what appear to be scabs possibly from the cauterisation.

Few scabs are normal but persistent scabs need evaluation

Hello dear.

Even if the surgeon is not expecting anything, evaluation of biopsy report is must. Moreover, as I said earlier check cystoscopy is must if bleeding or scab persists. If the biopsy and check endoscopy is inconclusive, MRI of lower abdomen and pelvis is necessary. Also coagulation parameters needs to be checked.
