Question: I am having a salty taste on my top teeth, feeling it from time time, especially after food.

Read your query and understand your concern as you feel salty taste in mouth after eating food in region of upper teeth.

Salty taste can be due to some reasons like:
- Dental problem (Infection in gums, Periodontal Abscess or bacterial or fungal infection that effects your taste buds on tongue causing salty taste)
- Nasal problem (infection or sinusitis, if you have sinus problem or had them in past )
- Nutritional deficiency.
- Dehydration.
- Bacterial infection of salivary gland.

For this I will suggest you to try these home remedies:
- Brush your teeth twice daily using soft bristle toothbrush.
- Clean your tongue after brushing using tongue scraper.
- Do XXXXXXX warm saline rinses two - three times a day.
- Use waxed floss to clean interdental areas of teeth.
- Increase fluid intake, drink water in short interval.
- Don't take tobacco containing product if you are taking.
- Avoid hot, spicy food.

Follow the above home remedies if symptoms persists aforementioned see oral surgeon for visual examination of oral cavity for gum infection and if needed go for oral prophylaxis (scaling and root planning).
