Question: Hi,
I am currently travelling abroad in Sweden.
I had running nose for some days, which is now fine. However I have developed some pain on nose bone between eyes.
My nose is not blocked, but still feels pain on nose bone and forehead.

Please suggest. I have some general purpose medicines with me, like Paracetamol, Cheston Cold n similar.
Please suggest.

Brief Answer:
Steam inhalation, paracetamol, OTC nasal decongestants.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. If you have been using Cheston Cold, it contains phenylephrine which causes rebound nasal congestion and this pain. Cetrizine causes nasal dryness.

2. Steam inhalation and paracetamol should suffice to settle your symptoms.

3. OTC nasal decongest drops (0.1% xylometazoline ) used twice a day for 3-5 days will help relieve the nasal symptoms. Do not use these drops for more than 10 days in a row.

4. When you get back, further investigation can be done to rule out frontal sinusitis.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
