Posted on Mon, 28 Jul 2014
Question: 3 weeks after gallbladder surgery still having right middle back pain only when i take a deep breath or if i eat a big meal. Had this symptom before surgery too. Dr says could be muscle or nerve damage or still recovering from surgery ... Also have dry cough especially after i eat and some rib pain. Could this be Gerd? Prevacid once a day helps a little. All bloodwork cbt, liver panels, lipase was normal and ct scan of abdomen with contrast was totally normal and so was mri of abdomen and small intestines. Why is pain still there?

Brief Answer:
Possible GERD...

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,

I have gone through your medical history and can admit that all your symptoms are indicative for GERD. I highly suggest to increase the dose of prevacid (take it twice daily).

You should be careful with foods/drinks you consume.

Wish fast recovery!

Normally, the difference will be noted after 5-10 days after the day when you start to take increased dose of prevacid.
