What Causes Retrograde Ejaculation And Leg Pain After TURP For Enlarged Prostate?
Question: I went through TURP about 4 weeks before and I have no problems. I have erection and when I indulge in stroking my penis, I got a pain where the legs join the torso on both left and right side. I did not reach the point of ejaculation and left it. What is the safe time for getting into masturbation or sex after TURP and is it true that there wont be any sperm getting out of penis?

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have undergone TURP for enlarged prostate 4 weeks ago and has issues regarding ejaculation and pain in legs .

The reason for not having ejaculation is as follow .
During normal ejaculation bladder neck gets closed and muscle of sphincter urethra opens making semen to move forward in to urethra to be expelled out .However during TURP entire bladder neck is resected along with prostate so bladder neck remains open for forever this results in semen to go backward in to bladder rather than going forward in to urethra .what is called as Retrograde ejaculation .This is known complication of this surgery however gets orgasm .This will remain for forever.
As regards pain in legs it is likely to be the raw area at the site of resected prostate causing pain in legs .
It is always safe to refrain from sexual activities either intercourse or masturbation for 6-8 weeks .

Hi,
For the last 5 days, I am having problem in urinating. The flow is not in a jet or in a straight line. It is just oozing out. but full quantity is flowing which takes lot of time as it is oozing out and in last stages, drop by drop. Sometimes, a jet comes and the flow is very weak. After 1st week of the operation, the flow was very good. The diameter of the flow was big and thick. i could urinate immediately. But, now, urine also comes unannounced and some drops fall off before I reach the bathroom. But there is no pain or irritation. It looks like something along the urine tract obstructs free flow. what is the correction for this?

Thanks for query .The symptoms that you have are mostly due to narrowing of urethral passage ( Stricture Urethra) which is common complication of endoscopic urological procedures .It is due to trivial trauma caused by instruments that are being passed through urethra .
You need to go to operating surgeon .He may advise you to undergo a small endoscopic procedure called Visual Internal Urethrotomy to dilate the urethra .This will resolve the issue .

thanks for the reply. It looks like the procedure for TURP itself for prostrate elongation. Will they use a catheter also during the hospitalization period? Does it pain after the procedure? Is it ok if I do after some time ( 2-3 weeks time) as I have to travel abroad next week. Thanks
