Posted on Mon, 16 Jun 2014
Question: Hello , Im XXXX . And i have been suffering from from fever for the past 2 days. I know what it is , caz, this is not the first time im getting this symptoms. I get these symptoms atleast once a year for the past 5 years. Whenever I go to doctor, they diagnise it as a typhoid. But I 've been top hospitals like Manipal, XXXXXXX Asia, Koshy's and newly built Specialist hospital. They always provided me resolutions that work only for that instance. I never got a permanant cure for this. I dont know if i really have typhoid or is it just some minimal trace im having that is causing intermittant fever like this. Whatever the case, i have been looking for permanant cure for this. I got this one almost 9 times in tha past 5 years. And I make sure my water intake is clean, caz, i use water purifier and i make sure the catridges are replaced every year without fail. Currently please prescribe some medicine for instant releaf. ( fever , wet cough and feeling difficulty in breathing). But im looking for some permanant cure as well. Thanks in advance.

Brief Answer:
It seems like seasonal fever

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

I have seen your reports and also read you query.

You seem to be having episodes of fever yearly or twice yearly that resolve with medicines (maybe antibiotics). My personal opinion is that it is seasonal and not typhoid or paratyphoid. With change in season the germs that manifest become active and cause the fever and other symptoms.

The germ that is responsible may not be picked by tests. There are a wide variety of germs that can cause these symptoms.

Now you have asked for something that provides instant relief from symptoms of fever, wet cough and difficulty in breathing. For fever you can take crocin 500 mg upto 4 times a day. For wet cough and difficulty in breathing, I would recommend a combination of ambroxol, chlorpheniramine like fluzet-x syrup. For difficulty in breathingyou can take salbutamol syrup like asthalin syrup. Both the syrups can be taken twice a day and should be taken only if the symptom is present.

Permanent cure is difficult. It is nature's way of clearing germs after every season.

Hope it helps.

1>But the puzzling question to me all these days is why the widal tests are showing positive or showing the presence of bacteria.
2>And another question is what can I do to clear off these germs that are manifesting every now and then?
3>Is there anyway I can build an immunity to these germs?
4> And this difficulty in breathing is something Im most uncomfortable with.. I feel very tiresome when this happens . Is this normal for this seasonal fever.
5> And when i go to office with this fever, i dont know if it due to Air condition, i get more wet cough with breathing issue and couldn't sit and concentrate properly.
6> I get lill body pains as well some thing like lill bit of back pain. This is not in major intense though , but something that need to be considered and happens only when i get this fever.

Brief Answer:
Typhidot

Detailed Answer:
Hi again
I would answer your specific questions here.

1>But the puzzling question to me all these days is why the widal tests are showing positive or showing the presence of bacteria.
A. I would not be so worried about widal positive. In fact widal should not be used as a diagnostic test for typhoid. A better test is typhidot. If that is positive then I will be thinking of treating it. Typhoid spreads from contaminated food and water and if you have it then you may have taken contaminated food in the past.

2>And another question is what can I do to clear off these germs that are manifesting every now and then?
A. Antibiotics are needed but you should confirm before proceeding for treatment.

3>Is there anyway I can build an immunity to these germs?
A. Lifestyle is the way to increase immunity. Medicines do not usually work though there are some medicines like chyawanprash and XXXXXXX drops.
Exercise daily for atleast 20 min and take more of fruits and vegetables.

4> And this difficulty in breathing is something Im most uncomfortable with.. I feel very tiresome when this happens . Is this normal for this seasonal fever.
A. It is either seasonal bronchitis or it may be asthma/allergy. Asthma allergy happens seasonally.

5> And when i go to office with this fever, i dont know if it due to Air condition, i get more wet cough with breathing issue and couldn't sit and concentrate properly.
A. It is due to cold air. So you know that cold air makes your symptoms worse.

6> I get lill body pains as well some thing like lill bit of back pain. This is not in major intense though , but something that need to be considered and happens only when i get this fever.
A. Exercise and yoga (stretching exercises) will help with minor back pain. If it lasts for more than 1 month than you may see a doctor and get an X-ray done.

Hope it helps.
