What Causes Redness On The Scrotum?

Question: My scrotum has turned bright red. This has occurred over a period of 6 days or so. I started applying aquaphor last night (3 times - each time I awakened during the night) and the discoloration appears somewhat better.

I have had the redness for 7 days. There is slight itching but no burning. There is discomfort whenever the scrotum moves or rubs against my underclothes. The feeling is rather like that from rubbing an abrasion.

The only ailments I suffer from are asthma and osteoarthritis. My only allergy is to penicillin.

It could be dermatitis.

I would recommend you to apply a mild topical steroid like Cortisone cream to the affected area twice daily for 7-10 days.

Also, wear cotton underwear, avoid strenuous physical activity and stay in the cool airy environment.
