These symptoms indicate infection of the eye in the form of conjunctivitis.
I treat conditions like this by the use of antibiotic eye drops like Moxifloxacin or Ofloxacin eye drops. The condition usually takes 5-7 days for complete resolution.
As this infection is usually contagious and can spread to other eye and others precautions like avoiding touching the other eye, using separate hand kerchiefs, avoiding close contact with others are necessary.
Use of artificial tears eye drops will provide symptomatic relief from irritation and other symptoms.
