Question: I woke up yesterday morning with my left nipple swollen and red. It has gotten worse and has gone a few mm outside my nipple. I haven't taken any types of medicines nor is it an ingrown hair.

Brief Answer:
Infection of the breast

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

From you description and the image you submitted it looks like you have an infection. This infection could have happened spontaneously. I think you need to see a medical provider today at an urgent care center so you can be started on antibiotics. If you decide to wait this infection could become worse. I recommend you do not delay getting treatment.

We can not prescribe medication from this site. You will need to see a medical provider

Brief Answer:
Typicall antibiotic would be bactrim DS

Detailed Answer:
My first agent of choice for cellulitis would be Bactrim DS and if you were allergic to sulfa then a cephalosporin like Keflex would be my second choice. Your medical provider may have other options but any than treats cellulitis would be appropriate
