Brief Answer:
Get the levels controlled again

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

Vitamin D is normally produced by the body when exposed to sunlight. If your sunlight exposure has been limited, please consider getting more exposed if possible.

A bright red tongue is not a typical presentation of vit D deficiency. I will like that your numbers be controlled in the lab for comparison. If there is no change in the value of this vitD, then we may suspect that this vitD is not being absorbed and we may want to look for possible explanations to this. For now, I will not suggest that there is poor absorption.

What is your race? African Americans and blacks have generally reduced VitD levels. Did you get the chance for your body calcium to be controlled? This is an indirct indicator for vitD activity and levels.

The dose of 5000IU is normal and if not in excess quantities. In all, please get the numbers for vitD3 and and calcium controlled first. More decisions would then be based upon this.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information if need be.
