Dear doctor I uploaded a picture of the affected area
Before this boil around 45 days before I had sexual contact and as I mentioned I got Vdrl test done which was negative

I am now applying Bactroban ointment once a day

As you can see in the picture the boil was located at the inner side of the foreskin just where there is a tiny ligament attaching the foreskin to the shaft. Previously it used to be painful when I draw down the foreskin and sometimes it bled also when I tried cleaning by drawing down the skin but after taking antibiotics ( augmentin) it is no more painful but feels like raw wound when touched. It is red in color and surrounding skin is also slightly inflamed. I am scared to clean it becoz it might bleed,

Brief Answer:
Possibility of inflammed tyson's glands

Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thank you. I have reviewed the Image.

This could be due to an inflammed XXXXXXX glands, which are located just at the attachment of frenulum, on either side. This does'nt seem like an STD.
I would suggest you to take a tablet of Zifi-LBX (cefixime 200 mg+ dicloxacillin 500 mg) twice daily for a week. It is a prescription drug and I suggest that you use it under supervision and guidance of your local doctor. Topically you may continue with bactroban ointment.

Is it essential that I take the antibiotics that you have mentioned or can I wait for the inflammation to go with just topical application of bactroban. Just want to make sure that not taking antibiotics in not harmful as long as the wound is healing gradually

Secondly is the dicloxacillin 500 mg or 100 mg ?

regards

Brief Answer:
Better to take oral antibiotics in addition to topical ointment

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

It would be better to take a complete course of Oral antibiotics i.e for a week for an effective response and faster resolution.
You may simultaneously use topical Bactroban Ointment, as well.
Adult dose of dicloxacillin is 500 mg, thrice daily.
