What Causes Red Spots On Penis?

default
Posted on Mon, 3 Aug 2015
Question: This red patch (pic 1) and red spots (pic 2) appeared on my penis after I had sex with my wife a month ago. I thought they are just sore spots and will disappear in a week, but they have not. It's been a month that I've had them.

They don't hurt, don't itch and there is no puss or liquid of any kind coming out of them. They are ~slightly~ sore to the touch. What could this be?

Brief Answer:
Candidal/ yeast infection; topical and oral antifungal

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have gone through your query and I have also reviewed the Images.

This seems like a candidal/ yeast infection.
If I was the treating doctor I would suggest that you use a topical antifungal e.g clotrimazole 1% cream which is avialble otc (preferably a cream which contains clotrimazole 1% and a mild topical steroid i.e beclomethasone dipropionate 0.025% would be great). Use it twice daily for 7 days.
In addition I would also recommend a single dose of tablet fluconazole 150 mg as an Oral antifungal.

Did you wife had any vaginal itching?Or discharge?

Regards
