Question: I tripped but did not fall. My knee now is a little warm and there is red spot. However I can walk and it isnt painful. The red spot is slighty above the knee and to the right. I pointed to it in the picture. What could be wrog

Brief Answer:
Mild soft tissue injury likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The mild swelling and red spot above the knee can be due to a soft tissue injury in the area. This does not seem to be a serious injury. It is likely to subside with rest and cold compress. You can wrap an elastic bandage for an extra support while walking.
In case the swelling increases or there is a sudden sharp pain on walking then an internal injury to the knee joint is likely. In that case it is best to consult an orthopedician for a detailed examination.
I hope this answers your query.

So far Dr. Tayal no pain at all. is that different or the same as a sprain or strain ? If i dont have a bandage, is a knee brace with a hole in the middle ok ?

Brief Answer:
Likely to be simple strain or sprain.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
It can be a sprain or strain. A knee brace with a hole in the middle can be used for relief. Doing a cold compress will also help.
Hope my answer is helpful.

Thank you doctor!! Lyou mentioned earlier that if I feel a sharp pain or increased swelling there might be an internal injury. When should I expect that , like if it doesnt happen within the first 24 hours then it is just sprain or strain? If it were a serious injury would the strong pain be immediate ? Thanks again Doctor you are the best

Brief Answer:
Wait for 2-3 days.

Detailed Answer:
If there is no sharp pain or swelling in 2-3 days then it is likely to be a sprain only. Do avoid bearing weight on the knee till then. In a serious injury there is an immediate pain and feeling of something tearing inside.

Two days ago I started getting occasional sharp pain inside my right ear and occasional shooting pains in my head, also on the right side. My head feels a little tender in that spot. I also noticed some small, painless lumps on my jaw line under my right ear. I have no idea if they re related to the other symptoms. Any ideas what this could be?

My period is now 16 days late, and it is very regular...I use a menstruation tracker. I have been feeling sick to my stomach, getting headaches, severe backaches, and feeling dizzy. I did take a pregnancy test, but it was negative, so I wasn't too worried because I am on the pill (although there were probably a few times where I forgot to take it and then doubled up the next night). Suddenly today, I started getting severe sharp pains in my lower abdomen (mostly on the left side, but radiating to both sides) and severe pains in my upper abdomen, like I was going to throw up...I feel weak and started to have bright red bleeding, although it isn't heavy. all day today before the pain, I was having brown discharge that had stringy clots in it. I am debating on visiting the ER and wanted to ask your opinion.
