What Causes Red Marks On Hand After Recovering From Chickenpox?

default
Posted on Tue, 24 Mar 2015
Question: Hi I had Chicken Pox a month back (also had once I was a kid) and was prescribed valcivir 1000. Following this I recovered in 2 weeks. But later my wife got pox. She was prescribed Aciclovir 800. Now even she has recovered. Just today I noticed a cluster of red marks like musquito bites (nontitchy) on my hands which looks the same way as my pox looked in initial days. Could it be that its Chicken Pox again or something else. Please let me know as I am scared if I am getting it back.

It is unlikely to be chicken pox.
The rash of chicken pox is vesicular/ fluid filled and is centrifugal in distribution i.e it first starts from torso/ trunk and then moves outwards to the extremities.

Brief Answer:
Lesions resemble mosquito bites

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Thank you. I have reviewed the Image.
These rashes are not chicken pox.
They indeed look like mosquito bites.
I suggest you to apply a soothing lotion e.g calamine lotion, twice daily.
