What Causes Red Itchy Bumps On Wrist After Applying Neosporin?
Question: I have a rash that began about 2 months ago on my right arm. It is located on the skin under my watch. I began to apply Neosporin and it did not go away so I got some otc medicine for a fungus. I almost went away but all of a sudden a small red itchy bump appear--same as it began the first time-- and now it is bigger than before. The rash is composed of redder small bumps in a half circle becoming a lighter red in the center.

I have seen the attached picture.
You seem to have developed an allergic reaction to the material of the watch .
You should completely avoid wearing it since you are developing skin allergy to its contact .
Apply a topical steroid cream like cortisone cream over the affected areas twice daily.
Do not apply any other cream or oil over the affected area.
The lesion should heal in three to five days .

Today, as before with the break-out, I have worn the watch on my right arm with no problem. Why would I not break out on that arm?

I have seen the attached pictures.
My first possibility is that of allergic dermatitis since the rash is round in shape and looks like it has developed only in the area under the dial. That is why I have recommended you to apply a topical steroid cream .
The second oldest possibility is that of a fungal infection called tinea .
But since you have already applied antifungal cream without much relief ,so I suspect an allergic cause .
Also many times ,after wearing the watch continuously in one arm ,there us accumulation of sweat ,dirt and sometimes other irritants like chemical agents in soaps or hand washes which tend to accumulated in between the skin and the dial of the watch which may slowly cause an allergic response .
An allergic reaction would heal completely in three to five days ,provided you do not wear the watch in the affected wrist again .
If however ,it tends to persist ,we can consider the possibility of a fungal rash .
