Red eye can occur due to many causes like:
1. Infections leading to conjunctivitis, corneal infection
2. Uveitis: uveitis is inflammation of the uveal tract
3. Allergic reactions in the eye can also cause red eye
4. hemorrhage: Hypertensives and diabetic patients can also get hemorrhage and thus red eye

In order to find the exact cause of red eye, a clinical assessment is required to look for the site of redness.
Clinical assessment of the entire eye is required to look for the cause of redness of the eye.

Cnsult an ophthalmologist as soon as possible.
