What Causes Red Bump On Penis And White Blisters On Tongue?

default
Posted on Wed, 2 Jul 2014
Question: Doctor,

I have had two different doctors examine a red bump on my penis and white blisters on my tongue. In both cases, they diagnosed me with Lichen Planus.

HOWEVER,

Since then, I have WebMD'd and read every description of every illness under the sun.

Since last Saturday, I've had penile and anal burning (either real or imagined)
Stiffness in my back that worked down to my left glute. It subsided quickly to a tightness in my stomach.
I have swollen Lymph nodes in my groin.
I have had weakness in my limbs and very slight light headedness which could be from my own supreme anxiety.
I currently have tingling in my skin. mostly in my hands and lower legs. feet, too.

Is this consistent with Lichens Planus? It sounds more consistent with Herpes.

Any thoughts?

Unlikely to be herpes

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Lichen planus is disease of skin and systemic manifestation of disease are are.
It's unlikely to be Herpes. Herpes is only restricted to to particular dermatome or part of body. It may only produce systemic manifestation during initial exposure.
As two doctors have examined and opined that it's Lichen planus , it is most likely to be Lichen planus.

Doctor,

Thank you for your answer.

My concern is that the burning I feel along with the back /glute pain along with the swollen lymph nodes is indicative of herpes.

Is it possible that the current lichen planus diagnosis is correct, but that I am also suffering from prodrome stages of herpes?

Unless the symptoms I feel are indicative of lichen planus, I fear that it is herpes.

I first noticed the lichen planus bump on Thursday 6-5-14 and I felt the first burning and light headedness on Saturday 6-7-14.

As it stands today, I have no herpatic outbreak.

Brief Answer:
Did you have any exposure?

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Herpes prodrome is usually followed by appearance of typical herpes lesion in next three to four days.
The back ache and lymph node enlargement of unlikely to be due to herpes. They could also occur in non specific viral prodrome.
Did you have any significant risky sexual exposure in preceeding 15 days?

If yes what was the exposure.
Do get back to me with info

Take care
