Question: Last week i went to XXXXXXX from XXXXXXX and may be due the weather change
i am down with mild fever since 28th March with headache and crocin advance gave good relieve and on 29th i had visited the doc and he gave some medicine which really provided a relieve but on 30th March i am still down with fever and i had visited doctor again in XXXXXXX and she prescriped AZee 500 and calpol 500 because i have mild throat pain and mild fever and on the same night i have a international travel around 24 hr and now again i am down with mild fever and headache and again crocin helped a lot .
Note - Fever and headache usually come back at night , no cold , no running , nose , no chill , no pain except headache and mild throat pain , mild fever (99 to 100.5) ,
Is it due to weather change and exertion from frequent travel.

Brief Answer:
Could be or upper respiratory tract infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Yes, sudden weather changes and exertion mostly by trave can cause fever.
But you also mentioned that you have throat pain which points toward probability of having upper respiratory tract infection.
As you have rightly been started on AZEE 500 you should complete the course of the antibiotic along with tablet CALPOL.
I would like to suggest few more points here like-
1. Gargling with betadine or potassium permanganate solution in warm water atleast twice a day. Its like a local antiseptic. It will surely give you relief with throat irritation.
2. Avoid cold food items and fried and oily foods which might again worsen the pain of throat.
3. If possible try drinking turmeric with milk before sleeping. Natural antibiotic action for throat.
I feel with above advice you will be better soon for tour travel.
Keep Calpol handy with you and some cough lozenges in flight.
I hope I have answered your query well.
If you have any questions kindly ask me back.
Thank you

I had already completed the three day course but i was in flight on April 1 to visit the US and as know in flight you can't avoid a/c but i have minimized the cool stuff in flight.

Now today i have a fever around 101.4.

I don't have the calpol but i have crocin advance , crocin cold and flu and sinrest

Do i visit the doctor in US or should i weight for couple of days and use the above medication ?

Brief Answer:
crocin advance will be ok. you can wait for 1-2days

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX thanks for following up with me.
Among the meds you listed, crocin advance can be taken. Crocin cold and flu should be taken when you also have cold and runny nose. Basically it contains antihistamines.
As I have advised you previously you can use other home remedies of gargling and drinking turmeric which should help you a ton.
As you have already completed the course of Azee you can wait for a day or 2 and see whether other advices help. Mostly it can be viral v/s infective cause.
As you have already completed course of antibiotics and still have fever, it goes more with viral fever.
There is no medications for that. Treat the fever with crocin. Do not take more than 3 tabs per day.
Also drink lots of fluids. It helps to wash out the viral reason from body and will help you get better fast. Drinking hot soups and milk will be advised.
Going to US hospitals is not same as in XXXXXXX so I will advice you to try above things for few days. If you feel that nothing is helping then you go to doctors there.
I hope this advice will help you.
If you have any more query kindly ask me back.
Thank you

Thanks Dr XXXXXXX for quick response.

As per your advice , i have added below items in my daily diet

1- Milk with Haldi twice a day
2- Fruits like strawberry , orange and blueberries
3- Green tea 3 times a day
4- light food and soups

I have taken one crocin advance in a day if required and again its depend on my fever (greater then 100 c). Only one crocin is enough for a day.

Now this time i have notice little improvement i.e. fever with very little headache .

Is there anything alarming or do i stick with this plan ?

Thanks,
-XXXX

Brief Answer:
very well planned out, avoid fruits you mentioned, read ahead

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Yes you have planned out very well.
Only thing here I would like to add is avoid the fruits you mentioned. Oranges contain citric acid and if berries are sour it will give you throat irritation. So avoid these fruits for time being. If you want you can have watermelon or papaya or apple too.
Follow this regime for 2 or 3 days more and you will be totally fine.
I am 99% sure this is viral fever only.
Just subside fever with Crocin as and when required and keep yourself well hydrated so you pass lots of urine. It will be out if your system soon.
Wish you good health XXXXXXX
