What Causes Recurrent Neck Pain With Muscle Tightness?
Question:
About two years ago I was stretching my neck to the left and felt a pain in my ear. The next morning I could not hear and had tinnitus. Hearing tests showed death to the inner ear nerve and tiny hairs, with 80% hearing loss. I have also had ulnar nerve surgery, and carpal tunnel surgery. I have neck pain every day, with tightness of muscles as well. Do you have a diagnosis and recommendations for treatment?

The recurrent neck pain with muscle tightness could be related to any one of the following conditions, such as, cervical spondylosis, disc prolapse, concretions present over the cervical vertebra and vitamin D deficiency.
MRI of the cervical spine and serum calcium will aid in making an accurate diagnosis. An orthopedician or a spine surgeon can help you in this regard. Also, you need to do neck strengthening exercises as per the recommendations of the physiotherapist.
