Question: Hi
My name is XXXXXXX and i am 37 yrs old. I got married in 2007 and 2 yrs back I had a miscarriage for 4 weeks old. When I got married I aborted in the first year. then I took contraceptive pills also but not much. hardly 4-5 in these so many years. When I had miscarriage I went through DNC then after a year i conceived again but again misaccriaged but that was for hardly 15 days. Doctor suggest me for some medicines. All together i conceieved for 4 times but unfortunately couldn't keep it. Now my periods which lasts for 4-5 days have been reduced to only to two days. however, they come on time. I am trying to conceive but I cant. Kindly suggest me what should I do and what is the reason behind my less period days?

Brief Answer:
Chromosomal analysis required

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) Repeated miscarriages are due to some unknown genetic ( chromosomal) mutations in the fetus. This needs evaluation.

2) Such chromosomal abnormalities are more common after 35 years ( 33 years in some) of age in women.

3) Therefore I suggest you undergo IVF followed by PGS ( preimplantation genetic screening) of embryos to identify if there are any chromosomal abnormalities in embryos resulting in such repeated miscarriages.

4) Periods for 2 days is normal and nothing to worry about it.

Regards
