Question: I am facing hiccups since yesterday morning, it stopes in between but starts again; kindly help me with some suggestions

Hi,

I will require a brief history regarding your hiccups. Do you have any other medical condition? Neck swelling, throat issues, gastric issues, constipation, stomach bloating or sudden emotional stress?
And also need to know if it's the first time or are you recurrently prone for hiccups?
Regarding how to manage the hiccups, we should first try physical maneuvers which should reduce the hiccups.
First should be to disturb your normal respiratory pattern, take a deep breath for as long as possible, hold it for as long as possible and then expire it for as long as possible. Generally about 4-5 minutes of this exercise should reduce your hiccups.
You can also try pulling your knees to chest, adopting a fetal position. This has shown to help too. Sipping on cold water too can help.
First try these methods and if they aren't working then we can go ahead and try a few pharmacological drugs.
