Brief Answer:
It needs some days to settle down to normal bowel movement

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

Colonoscopy its an invasive procedure which can cause these side effects.
The pressure can come from the mild damage of the bowel during the exam, and it may need some days to settle down.
Also the bladder and urethra may have symptoms because the urethra has been exposed during the exam and might have gotten irritated. And also the dehydration may cause these symptoms.

So what I would advice is:
-- Make sure that your bowel movement its normal after the colonoscopy. We don't want that the bowel damage to be that high as to affect your bowel movement, because this would be a symptom that would require you to go and see your local doctor as soon as possible.
-- Consider doing a urine analyse to rule out a urinary tract infection, because you will need a treatment with antibiotic.
-- Is it also possible that all these symptoms may not be related to colonoscopy and you might need a visit to a local doctor, to take a full history, to examine you, to do the necessary tests and determine what is that is causing these symptoms.

Hope this is helpful.

I did not have a colonoscopy exam - I had a colostomy where they took out 1/4 of my intestines and the rectum.

please read the question properly - this is not a simple case of "have a bm and all will go away"
really ladies and gentlemen

Brief Answer:
This is my opinion. Hope its helpful.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

I'm really sorry for misreading your problem.

I hope you are doing ok.

Some more information about your stoma would be helpful because the possible complications arise depending on the level of stoma, the time when you did it, how are your bowel movements from the stoma, ect.

If your bowel movements are ok, then I would suggest to consider talking with the doctor who did the surgery or the nurse that is helping you, so they can perform a physical exam and maybe and ultrasound to check how are the other organs doing.

I would still recommend doing a urine analyse and rule out a urinary tract infection. If its negative and the abdominal ultrasound result normal then I think it will be a matter of lubrification and you might need to use a lubrification gel externally.

I hope I have helped somewhow. These are my thoughts connected to the information I have from you.

Don't hesitate to ask again if you have other questions or concerns.

Regards,
Dr.Papaqako

Thank you so much for your answer. I have had a scan to make sure all is ok and it showed no problems, however, a scan would not show my bladder resting on some remaining bowl and pressing it down onto my rectum stump which causes the pain and pressure on my anus and rectum stump. As mentioned my bladder is a loose cannon as it is attached to my vagina and I have no urethra left. I like your idea of having an ultrasound of the area. My stoma is fine and I have no problems . I take care of the consistency of my bowel movements. I do notice when my bm's are a little solid or little too loose that the pain and pressure increase.
Again thank you for your input.
