What Causes Rashes All Over The Body After Taking Nitrofurantoin?

Question: I am allergic to Ceclor antibiotic and I have just been prescribed Nitrofurn Mono 100MGCP NORT, which is generic for Microbic. My Ceclor reaction was mild, small rash. Should I be able to take Nitrofurn Mono? Thank you.

Hello,

allergy to ceclor has nothing to do with nitrofurantoin, so unless you've had an allergic reaction to nitrofurantoin in the past, you can use it. Keep in mind that all drugs may cause an allergic reaction even if you've used them without problems in the past. A mild reaction is not dangerous for your life but you can't always predict the extent of the reaction.

So in conclusion, taking nitrofurantoin is as safe for you as for anybody else.
