What Causes Rash On Breasts Post Wisdom Tooth Removal?

default
Posted on Wed, 22 Apr 2015
Question: When i removed my wisdom tooth 8 months ago, my skin started developing white spots, as seen below. The dermatoligist said it might be fungal. But then... Suddenly... For the past two weeks ive been dealing with a yeast infection of the vagina. It is the first time ive had one. It is going back and forth, hasnt been as horrible as it first was. Then a week ago I developed these scabs under my breast at the same time as the yeast infection below. Its under my left breast. What do i do? This seems like a candida issue? What does this look like to you? It is extremely itchy, and if i scratch it it will feel good during scratching, and then begin to hurt a lot. So i dont scratch there. My vagina still has some cheesy yeast, which went away but came back after traveling. It started as a boil, i believe. Thank you. Also, what are the white spots? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Fungal infection on sub-mammary area; striae on abdomen; vaginal yeast

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have taken note of your query and I have also reviewed the Images.

The rash under breast certainly looks like a fungal infection.
This area is quite prone to develop fungal infection just like other body folds because of the anatomy and therefore traps moisture/ sweat and this can encourage fungal growth.
I suggest you to use an OTC topical antifungal e.g clotrimazole 1% cream, twice daily for 2-4 weeks.
A combination cream of clotrimazole 1% along with a topical steroid e.g beclomethasone dipropionate 0.025% would be more suitable.
Topical steroids are antiinflammatory and therefore will provide faster relief from itching in combination with antifungals

An OTC oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily will provide you symptomatic relief from itching.

Regarding the white spots I can make out that these are actually stretch marks/ striae rather than due to fungal infection and they appear white because they are quite old.
They can make an appearance after significant weight loss.

Vaginal yeast infection can give rise to cheesy discharge along with itching.
You may use an OTC clotrimazole vaginal tablet and insert it once every night for the next 6 days.
A single dose of an Oral antifungal e.g fluconazole will also be curative.

You seem to mention in your some of your other queries about red spots/ red rash down there and bleeding from rash.. I would like to rule out an STD???

Are you sexually active? If yes, with single or multiple sexual partners?

Well i have a few stretch marks. But these white spots started right after my wisdom tooth was removed. They went away for a month but came back later. It does not seem to be related to weight loss? Because it suddenly depleated and then came back again?

I have been with a few men. 4 men. What is the difference between under breast scabbing from fungal infection and STD? I get boils easily but not this spread and scabbed.

The rash bleeding was on my vagina when I had a yeast infection. It was my first yeast infection. It healed quickly, no scabbing. The yeast infection in vagina was cheesy white discharge, it was not watery or any symptoms like an STD.

Brief Answer:
White spots are likely Pityriasis XXXXXXX & post-inflammatory hypopigmentation

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Yes, on careful examination I can see a few ill defined white spots interspersed with stretch marks and they are most likely due to dryness of skin/ Pityriasis XXXXXXX and post-inflammatory hypopigmentation.
These are not fungal in origin.
You may use a moisturizer cream/ lotion over this area, twice daily and this would improve the white spots.

The rash under breast is not related to an STD. It is a simple fungal infection and should respond to antifungal treatment.

My inquiry regarding STD was with regard to red rash and bleeding from vagina. Normally a yeast infection does'nt bleed..therefore I wanted to rule out STD?

It would require an examination to rule out an STD if you still have the rash Or sores and bleeding..

Ok. I will do as you said. :) Under the breast still itches a lot, and it pains. Ive never had this before. It scares me. :( It just gets worse. Any additional suggestions?

Oh the vagina wasnt really bleeding. Just little spots of blood. No scabbing. Just had some sores because the yeast moved to the surface of the vagina. I dont have sores or bleeding on vagina. It lasted only two days, and got better. Now its only a little cheesy discharge. But the boob started really getting bad. :(

When i was 5 i got a blood infection from some bad food. Maybe that is coming back? I dont know. :(

Brief Answer:
Topical antifungals below breasts; clotrimazole vaginal tablets for vagina

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

The rash under breast definitely seems fungal. You may use the topical that I suggested in my first reply.
An oral antifungal e.g fluconazole once weekly for 4 weeks would help in faster clearance.
However oral antifungals are a prescription drug and therefore you need to talk to your doctor.

For vaginal yeast too I would stick to the same advice that I had for you earlier in my first reply.

No, these are not related to your childhood infection.

Brief Answer:
Use topical OTC antifungals

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Clotrimazole 1% cream Or Miconazole nitrate 2% cream are topical antifungals which are available OTC.
You may use either of these at sub-mammary area.
White spots on flanks would take time. You meed to use a moisturizer regularly for a few weeks.
