Brief Answer:
Your symptoms point out to a fungal infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for posting your query in HealthCare Magic,

I have read through your query and I can understand your concern.
Your symptoms point out to a fungal infection of the navel area, but it would be better if you could provide me with a clear photograph of the affected area.

You are required to do the following:
- keep the area clean and dry always
- wash with warm saline water as it acts as a disinfectant
- wear loose fitting clothes and do not apply any tight packing over it
- you may use clotrimazole cream which is available over the counter and apply it twice daily after proper washing and drying the area.
- use clean and washed clothes for drying the area

Hope I have answered to your query,
Please feel free to discuss further or else kindly close and accept

Regards

Hello Dr. Remy Koshy, there is nothing visible outside of naval, the white liquid was coming from inside today morning. I can still smell the belly button, it smells the same but there is no liquid visible.

Brief Answer:
smell may be due to crusts formed from the discharge

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
Good to hear from you again,
Sorry for the delay in replying you back,

From your description, you state that you noticed a 'white' discharge from the naval area, but I would like to clarify that, was it milky white in color or just a serous clear discharge?

It is a good sign that the discharge has stopped. The smell may be due to crusts formed from the discharge.

Since you have not posted a pic of the affected area, I will explain you in detail the line of treatment:
If you have had a serous disharge, then I would recommend you to use Neosporin powder, which is a topical antibiotic, as the serous discharge is caused by bacteria.
If its a milky white discharge, then like I said earlier, you are required to use clotrimazole topical anti-fungal cream, which will treat the causative fungus.

You are also required to follow rest of the hygiene measures.

Hope this helps
Regards
