Brief Answer:
Yes, you need an appointment with a Neurologist !!!

I have thoroughly reviewed health query you raised, and well realize all of those concerns. Being your physician, I will take care all of them today and will extend my expertise to solve the problems.

Yes this is a cause of concern. Its origin may be in the neck starting from the nerves that emerge from spinal cord and supply the arm and hand muscles.

You need a thorough evaluation by a Neurologist who will go for thorough history, physical examination including some nerve tests and maneuvers, and some blood work. If needed he may go for a nerve conduction test to see integrity of the nerves I talked above.

Other causes may be nutritional and vitamin deficiency and that also makes such issues.

Viral illness that affects the nerves and stimulates it, can cause such abrupt and abnormal nerves signals to be conducted along its route of supply.

Hope I addressed all the concerns you have. Let me know if you have further questions. I will be more than happy to clear any doubts. Please give your 'rating' (if agreed, Five Stars) to help me assist patients in a better way; and, please don't forget to click on 'Close The Discussion'.
