What causes pulling pain in legs at night?
I am a 28 year old housewife weighing about 62 kgs - I experience a lot of pull and pain in my legs during night times. No such medical history or any problem.. it happens only during night times when my calves and legs start feeling a pull sensation which causes lot of pain. I am not sure why this is been happening - experiencing it from about 2 months
Night cramps likely.
Thanks for posting your query.
The pull and pain in your legs at night is likely to be due to night cramps. Night cramps most of the time occur for no known reason, and they're harmless.
Sometimes, it can be due to dehydration, muscle fatigue or electrolyte abnormalities. It is better to drink sufficient fluid and also see that your intake of electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium ) is sufficient. You can drink Oralyte for this.
Doing a hot compress of the calves at night will also help.
I hope this answers your query.

Yes it can be due to electrolyte imbalance and low levels of calcium or magnesium. You can get the serum levels evaluated and start with proper supplements.
