What Causes Prominent Veins On Right Inner Calf And Ankle Pain?

Question: I can see what looks like my veins on my right inner calf. About 3 in in diameter. It was very red and a little warm earlier but now its not as dark and not warm. I am also having ankle pain but it's more up my shin or outer ankle.

It could be Lymphangitis or vein thrombosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi. You could be either having Lymphangitis or an inflamed vein in the calf.
You should consult a Surgeon who can examine you and let you know what it is. If the redness has gone as you say then the infection is probably subsiding but as the pain is persisting you should get it looked at.
A Color Doppler of the venous system of your limb should be done to rule out Varicose Veins and vein thrombosis for which you might require treatment.
Do not worry.
Its a simple problem with a simple solution but do get it evaluated.
