I can't take it anymore. i don't have insurance so going to the doctor is not an option. I have a job where I cant be leaving my desk every few hours to change pads, I'm going to get fired if it does not stop, not to mention my boyfriend im sure is just about out of patience with me over this, It is ruining my life. Brief Answer:
Prescription hormonal medicines are needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
From the history it seems that you are having Dysfunctional uterine bleeding. The irregular and heavy bleeding that you are having can be due to uterine fibroids, polyps or hormonal disturbances. For diagnosis, you need to have an ultrasound scan of your lower abdomen and some blood tests.
Laboratory assessment of hemoglobin, luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), prolactin, T4, thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), pregnancy (by βhCG), and androgen profile are needed.
The management of this condition would require treatment with progesterone to stabilize the endometrium and reduce bleeding along with hemostatic agents like ethamsylate or tranexaemic acid . Oral contraceptive pills (OCPs) suppress endometrial development, reestablish predictable bleeding patterns, decrease menstrual flow, and lower the risk of iron deficiency anemia. All these are prescription only medicines and it cannot be treated without visiting a doctor.

You might consult your OB-GYN who can do the needed tests and initiate the proper therapy.
Meanwhile start taking iron supplements to combat excessive blood loss from your body.

Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
Try home remedies and iron rich foods till then.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Do not be so disheartened. I can understand your situation. You can try and see if you get tablet Pause over the counter. It will help in decreasing the bleeding if taken thrice a day. Do start taking oral contraceptive pills. The combination pills will help in decreasing the bleeding further in next 3-4 days.
Other than that, levonorgestrel intrauterine devices are also useful.

You can have iron rich foods like liver, lean red meats, beans like kidney, lima, navy, black, pinto, soy beans, and lentils, iron fortified whole grains, green vegetables like spinach, tofu, broccoli, swiss chard, asparagus, parsley, chicken, nuts, egg yolk and dry fruits.

You can have iron supplements along with these foods.
Till the time you consult a doctor you can take a cooked banana flower with yogurt to increase the progesterone levels in your blood. Also you can boil coriander seeds -20 gms in 200 ml of water till the water reduces to a quarter. Drinking this water daily will also help.
Hope my answer is helpful.
