Posted on Sat, 14 Mar 2015
Question: My stomach has a burnkng feeling, very umcomfortable; pressue in my bowels - which i do keep using the restroom. Lower back hurts. Excess saliva production and yet i am thirsty. I am lactose intolernt and have recently been counting my calories. This is now the second time this jas happened recently. Last time symptoms lasted 2-3 days. My dentist noted that the back of my teeth show acid wear and he asked if i havw acid reflux. Today i have taken tums and maylanta and it didnt help. I do have bad allregies and my sinuses do hurt today. I have been known to wake up in the middle of the night to vomit, and i think it has to do with my sinus pressure and or it draining into my stomach.

Brief Answer:
Symptome are suggestive of gastritis

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal
I have read your query
I think I will be able to help you.

The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a gastritis.
A long term course of PPI medicines like rabeprazole 20 mg twice a day before food should help you.
This may be taken along with syrup sucralfate 2 tsf 4 times a day for better results.

Bowe pressure so far may have been due to the lactose intolerance. Modified diet should help you get better. So it was a good idea for you to start the new diet.

And sinus do not drain into stomach. Thats a wrong concept.

Best of luck
I am sure the medicines will help you feel better.

While waitingi went to the store and bought zantec. I passed on the previcid bc in that i am looking for instant relief. I now have had a liquid bowel movement. I have not eaten anything out of the norm , in regards to lactose intolerance. Based on that i have taken a zantec, can i also take a previcid type product? I also just took a sudafed to help with the building aonus headache.

Brief Answer:
more information

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Zante is faster relief but not Kong lasting antacid. It's effects wear off faster. So yes pantoprazole 40 mg once daily before food would be great. And I think I would suggest that you restrict the dose of pain killer you take. It's going to increase the gastritis.

As fir lactose intolerance, I think I would suggest that you stop taking milk and milk products. Sooner the better.

As for sinusitis , I think it would be good to start steam inhalation 4-6 times daily instead of taking the pills.

I hope that the information helps you. Please feel free to contact us for more information. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
