What Causes Pinkish Purple Circles Under The Eye Of A Child?

Question: my 4 yr old grandson has pinkish purple circles under his eyes. He does not eat properly so I HAD T PUT HIM ON pEDIASURE AT AGE 2 we have been working hard to get him to eat and have cut back on the pediasure, and this seems to be when the circles appeared

1. What's his birth weight and current weight?
2. Can you tell me his date of birth?
3. Did he cry immediately after birth?
4. What is his current height?
5. Did he achieve all developmental milestones at appropriate age?
6. Does he drink a lot of water and urinate also large quantities ?
7. How many times does he pass urine per day?
8. Does he vomit a lot?
9. Is there any family history of any sort of allergy?
10. Does he crave for water or salt?

1. birth 8+lbs, 2. Dec.8,2010,3. yes,4.95 percentile,5. yes, 6.not much water but other liquids he doesn't like our water. well water, with water softener.7.5to6 times a day,8. no,9.nasel allergies. 10. It seems he likes salt a lot, but not sure crave would be the right word.

All seems to be normal

Hi...everything form history seems to be normal.

He is not failing to thrive. His height and weight are in good centiles.

The dark circles around the eyes are called allergic shiners and are a peripheral markers of allergy.

The only thing I would suggest is to get a renal function rest done and along urine disptic test. This is to rule out renal tubular acidosis (extremely remote possibility) as he is loving salt.
