What Causes Pinching Pain In A Spot On Calf?

default
Posted on Tue, 18 Aug 2015
Question: I have a weird pinchy pain in one spot of my calf. It comes and goes. Hurts when I walk sometimes. Hurts when I sit still but is not constant. No swelling or warmth in area. I did injure my leg a week ago and had a bruise that was throbbing but it is gone now. Worries about a possible blood clot

Brief Answer:
This might be veins thrombosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Unfortunately it is impossible to rule out veins thrombosis without proper tests. Its because half of veins thrombosis cases does not give any symptoms at all.
Calf pain can be the sign of thrombosis. Even if there is no other symptoms. And limb injury is a risk factor of thrombosis.
Luckily, veins thrombosis which last a week, is not dangerous. Even if you have a blood clot in leg vein, it wont move to the lungs in this point. It is because after a week, blood clot is immobile.

However you should not ignore it either. Please consult your doctor. Dopplers veins ultrasound should be done.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
