What Causes Persistent Stomach Problems With Rumbling Noises, Diarrhea And Shivering?

default
Posted on Thu, 29 Sep 2016
Question: Hi doctor its been over 4 years since i have these varying stomach problems. In the early mornings, my intestines make these rumblings and loud noises which intensifies in quiet situations and i cannot control it. Many doctors ive visited says its stress dominating the mind-gut. My doctor gave me this book which supposedly helps my stress and nerves. I need to know other ways of dealing with my stress, or other solutions to my stomach problems. I suffer diarrhea in some cases early in the mornings as well and i get twitches/shakiness all around my body. Sometimes, i feel normal and i dont think thats it my stress taking control of my stomach.

Brief Answer:
Explained possible causes of your symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your question.

I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

If I was your caring doctor, I would suggest the following steps into approaching your problems. Maybe you have already tried those, but since I don't know fully your medical history, Im writing how would I suggest you with the information I have.
1) Have a healthy diet- lots of fruits and vegetables, plenty of fluids, no junk food, no smoking or alcohol.
2) You are young so we don't expect chronic problems. Make sure you get checked with Stool for Ova and Parasite, because that is the most possible cause of giving chronic diarrhea.
3) It is normal to have diarrhea sometimes after being in contact with people who have viral gastro-intestinal infections, but that would last not more then 2 weeks...especially if you work with children.
4) Try having a diet without dairy for 2 weeks, and then for 2 other weeks a diet without gluten. In this way you will rule out Lactose or Gluten intolerance which are rather common problems in young people.
5) If everything mentioned above its negative, then I can confirm that it is Irritated Bowel Syndrome, which it is basically what your doctor said- bowel symptoms related with stress. In this case you don't need a specific treatment, but the ones I see you have already tried. Use them as needed depending on your symptoms.

Hope this is helpful.
