Question: On Thursday evening I started having pain on the left side of my stomache, near my hip. It lasted about 15 hours. I went to an urgent care facility on Friday and they said it could be diverticulitis or appendicitis and if the pain reoccurred go to the hospital. It has not yet, but I'm worried that it will. I also feel exhausted. Should I head out to the hospital, or wait for the pain to revisit me. 30 years ago I had children, and this pain seemed worse than that, LOL. Pretty close, though.

Brief Answer:
Yes you should visit your gastroenterologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for asking query.
As your doctor was suspecting it to be Appendicitis or Diverticulitis,I would advice you to go for a ultra sound whole abdomen test. It's one of the basic test of Gastroentrology and will rule out the possibility of appendicitis or diverticulitisor nephrolithiasis(Mostly present with flank pain).
So answer for your query is yes you should go to your gastroenterologist and Get a Ultrasound done.
Thanks

Hi, I was diagnosed with salmonella infection in July. The salmonella infection was off high range , i took the antibiotics and recently in september did an Full Abdomen Ultra sound which was clear , Stool test which indicated No Blood / Mucus / WBC / Infection in the stool and a blood test in which everything was clear ESR was in normal range and WBC were in normal range. but i have a deficiency of Vitamin D which came to 14. I losted weight from 71 Kg to 63 Kg from July- sep but in the past few days my weight is now constant as i am taking food now. I still have pain in my stomach / Mumbling sounds / Pain on the sides espically right side. My question is that is this normal and will it go with the passage of time or is it some other disease known as Crohn s disease or Irritable bowl sybdrome or is it to do something with my vitamins.

I had a c-section 10 months ago. About three months ago I was having weak, fatigue , constipation, severe bloating , nausea, and urge to urinate. Had cat scan and all blood work came back fine. However they took my gallbladder out just cause they saw stones. I was then sent to my OB and she did exam and ultra sound of uterus and all was fine. At that time I was put on Metronidazole and began to feel normal. Now two months later after my period ended a few days later I had they symptoms appear again. Some days are worse than others. This time I also formed thrush in my mouth, and I have had brown stringy discharge for 8 days. It may help to know that in the last 28 months I have had 2 c sections and a gallbladder removed. I am at a total loss. I have been healthy my entire life. I am also 41 years old. Thank you for your time.

For about a month I have felt my heart flutter and at that very instant it is as if my breath is taken away. It is so fast that it is not uncomfortable but it makes me very worried. I feel it mostly in the afternoon and evening. I have never had anything like this; infact, I have never really felt my heart flutter. I had run a 10K run last November 2009 and they did a 20 minute heart test with all these suction cups on my body and an ultra sound machine next to me. After, they said my heart was fine and great to run the race. I did run and there wasn t a problem. I took this report, given to me by the Cardiologist for the run to a new doctor (Cardiologist) near my home and he listened to my heart, looked at the report and said my heart is great. He advised me to check my Thyroid. What could this be? I am 40, eat well, non-smoker and exercise on a regular basis. Thank you for any advise. Millie
