Brief Answer:
not to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to healthcaremagic

Severe cold can block your eustachian tubes due to which you are able to hear heart sounds. Eustachian tubes connect the nose and the ears and blocked tubes are very common in severe cold.

You can use decongestant nose drops to open the tubes and ventilate the ears. Instill 3 drops of otrivin nose drops in each nostril 3 times a day and follow it up with steam inhalation for 5 days.

Remember to drink plenty of fluids and avoid air conditioned and cold foods.

If your cold does not abate in the next 2 days then please see a doctor because you may need a course of antibiotics.
