Question: Hello, I am a 57 year old female. I am an insulin dependent Type II diabetic with high blood pressure. I had Shingles in 2014 and suffer from PHN as a result. Here are the medications I take, Gaba Pentin (once a day} amlodipine, hydroclorothiazide, atenolol, Lisinopril, Metformin, and baby aspirin. I had a stroke in 2009. It was pretty mild, but I do have ataxia because of it.
The last few days I am experiencing extreme fatigue, low grade fever, frequent urination, body aches and sore feet. Is this anything to be concerned about?

Brief Answer:
See a physician if the symptoms persist more than 3 days.

Detailed Answer:
Welcoming and thank you for asking on HCM!
I read carefully your concerns.
Sore throat with low grade fever and fatigue are symptoms of viral infections.
If it lasts more than 3 days i would recommend to see a physician to rule out any other infection.
These situations are considered stressful for organism and the blood sugar raises, that is why you should monitor frequently the blood sugar and adjust the insuline doses.
The frequent urination may be a sign of high blood sugar.
Hope the information will help.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
