To recapitulate: Female/89 - colostomy 7 years ago - leakage from colon - happens periodically - on Verapamil, Xarelto, Bistolic - not visited a Doctor - no treatment tried....
The commonest causes of periodic leakage from colon after colostomy are:
Intolerance to certain foods or beverages.
Infection
Sort of IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome.
Please give additional information for me to assist you better:
Why was colostomy done?
Is the complete colon removed or partially?
Is it end colostomy means permanent one that can not be reversed?
What are the factors that you have noticed that cause leakage?
Does the leakage cause any dehydration or such symptoms that are troublesome for you.

The colonoscopy could not be reversed due to tarloff cycts. Leakage occurs during stressful periods and it does not cause any problems. Thank you for your info

Thanks for your feedback. Understood that the Tarlov cysts did not allow the reversal of colostomy.
Since you know that stress is causing the leakage, it is better to have control over the stress although stress has become a part of life, yet it is not that difficult.
This is a sort of IBS that is irritable syndrome wherein the major cause is stress and/or anxiety.
You may please ask your Doctors to prescribe you medicines that can control the stress and thus the leakage - to be taken only when required and your problem will be well controlled.
