What Causes Peeling Of Foreskin On Penis?

default
Posted on Tue, 30 Dec 2014
Question: Hello Doctor.

So , this is concerning and irritating me now. Since a YEAR+ now I am having " reappearing dead-white-peeling skin(kindly see attachment pictures)" on my Penis foreskin. Its appearance is very weird. Sometimes it comes for a month and then goes off as I peel it all off and sometimes it will remain just there for months .

Information:

1)It does not itch or leave any red marks (just dead white peeling skin-like thing).

2)It appears VERY MORE than usual after consumption of alcohol. (within 16 hours I will come-and then I have to peel it off again)

3)No chance of STDs as I have had sex only 4-5 times in my life and all protected. (Last time was 3 months ago)

4)I masturbate 1-2 times a day .

5)My hygiene is very good . I always keep the area clean.

6)No usage of medications.

7)Sometimes while peeling the dead-white skin I mistakenly peel the accompanying skins too which leads to very slight bleeding but this is only because I peel the healthy -live skin. (the white skin , does not pain, itch or anything as told above)

Questions:

1) What is this ? Why does it reappear ? Should I be worried ? (I already am)

2) How does this type off stuff happen ? (I have googled alot about similar stuff and have ended up finding vague answers .The closest I was able to find was it was Candida or any fungal thing .

3) How to prevent and CURE this permanently . (What meds or cream I should apply/take ?)

4) How to keep the area even cleaner ? should I use mild soap or just water will do ?

Kindly review my questions carefully and give me detailed answers of each question. Also see the attachment pictures. Feel free to ask me any questions. I am only 19 and this is worrying me very much . Kindly HELP doctor.

Thank you :)

Thank you for understanding the situation.

One more information ...the skin is like hard blisters(irregularity can be felt when touched)..white in color which can be peeled of with lot of effort . And it reappears again .

After consumption of alcohol it increases substantially.

1) No medications taken for it. I have just tried to apply coconut oil sometimes and it has a very less effect to it . However the reappearing of white skin stops for a day or two but not very helpful.

2) No doctor consultation yet and thus no treatment.

3) Its not VERY tight ....and on erection it easily comes all the way down.

4) No excessive soap it used . I clean the area once a week with mild soap and rest of the day with cold water.

5) I consume less water when at work ....therefore sometimes feel thirsty like usual however there is no significant need of urination or thirst.

6) My late parental grandmother had diabetes in her late 60-70s however mom and dad have no such issues of diabetes.

7) I haven't had my sugar level test in a few years though I am that sure I am not a diabetes patient.

Kindly answer my previous questions now . I feel very unhelpful. :( . Anything else need to done ? answered ? or any meds to be taken ?

Thank you . Awaiting for a detailed answer eagerly!

Hello,

I have read your reply well.

Going by your age and symptoms, the most likely cause for your problem seems to be fungal infection, although there can be various other reasons like dermatitis, psoriasis, allergic reaction to strong soaps, detergents etc.

The best way going further is ...
Get a swab test taken from your glans and send for testing. This would tell us whether there is any infection, bacterial or fungal. Getting your blood tested for diabetes and urine for any infection.

In rare circumstances, a piece of skin be taken for biopsy, if swab doesn't show any result.
Consult a dermatologist or an urologist for the above mentioned tests.

Alternately you can do one thing.
Apply CLOTRIMAZOLE cream locally twice a day for 15 days for fungal infection.
Clean your glans with plain slight warm water and dab it dry.
Don't rub the glans with cloth but just dab so that it gets dry.

If your problem is due to fungal infection, a most likely reason, you should be all right with this treatment.

In case your problem returns after stopping the cream, you can consult the dermatologist or a urologist for further action as suggested above.

In the end, I want to assure you that it is not a big problem and shall be all right soon.
I hope it helps however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks

Thanks a lot for you views. I feel a bit better.
I will apply the cream as told and get back to you with results after 15 days.
Also if the problem persists would it be better to go to a dermatologist OR an urologist ?

After I go to one of them I will do the tests as suggested by you !
