What Causes Painless Bumps On Scrotum Post Workout?

default
Posted on Thu, 19 Mar 2015
Question: I am a 30 year old male and healthy. I developed flesh colored bumps on my scrotum that haven't spread, itched, nor are they painful. They just seem to be occupying the same area. I noticed them after wearing new underwear after a long workout - I do shave my scrotum. Could these be an STD? If not, what would you suggest in the USA for a remedy to cure them? If prescription, how could I obtain it without consulting my personal doctor?

Brief Answer:
Steatocystoma multiplex needs surgical intervention, No STD

Detailed Answer:
Hi, welcome to HealthcareMagic,

Clinic picture uploaded by you in favour of Steatocystoma multiplex of scrotum.
It is a multifocal cyst of scrotum due to disorder of hair follicle-sebaceous unit.Clinically, it is characterized by multiple small soft, movable, yellowish to skin-colored dermal cystic papules and nodules.

The causative factors of steatocystoma multiplex is unclear, Trauma, infection, or immunological events might be responsible for causation of disease.

It is not a Sexually Transmitted Disease.

Treatments includes cryosurgery, aspiration, surgical excision or radiofrequency ablation of the cyst. It is usually done by dermatologist. I do not know any center in USA but I suspect there would be many. Any dermatology practice will have this facility. It doesn't go away with prescription drugs. It goes away only with the above mentioned procedures.
Hope this will help you.
Thanks
