Question: I cut my calf pretty good and the next day went in for stitches. They gave me 5 stitches and some antibiotics. Well after a couple of days I can't straighten my leg or put my heal down when I limb around. Is this normal? Or a greater concern?

Brief Answer:
Due to swelling around wound

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using Healthcaremagic .

I went through your query and understood your concerns.

Healing for a stitched wound requires minimum of 2 months, and to regain complete strength by 4 months.
During this healing process, there will be some amount of pain and swelling around cut wound, which makes it difficult to stand.

After 2 months once healing of wound confirmed by a qualified doctor, you can try for slow non weight bearing movements in your leg. Cut in muscle requires slow stretching exercises to regain muscle length.

Now you can wait for wound to heal then start doing minimal movements in affected limb.

Hope I answered your query. Feel free to ask further related query.

Wish you a speedy recovery.

Regards
