Question: About 3 weeks ago I got a pain in my penis and it burned and hurt to urinate, after about 4 days I went ti a clinic and the doctor gave me a prescription (with out examining) after another 4 days the pain was not letting up and there was blood in my urine , I went to a different clinic this doctor sent me for blood and urine tests ( again no exam) 3 days latter when I returned he questioned as to why I returned which I informed him to find out the test results and the pain has not gone away and the blood is more noticeable, he had no answer as to the pain however the test results were clean no disieses or infections, since then I have notice extreme pain and burning when I get an erectoin as well I have observed a promonent curve to my penis when erect that was not like that before , and when I ejeculat only small anounts of blood come out no seamen. Is there some thing physically damaged? can it be treated / exercised back to normal, or might it clear up on its own? Can you refer me to a urologist in this area who can do an actual physical exam?

Brief Answer: Your Symptoms are mostly due to acute Prostatitis. Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you had burning while urinating and pain n your penis for which you were prescribed antibiotics (Hopefully) but did not get relief. Now you have painful erection and ejaculated blood (Hematospermia). All the symptoms that you have narrated are mostly due to Acute Prostatitis . Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis. 1) Routine Urine and Culture 2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen 3) Ultrasound scanning with Rectal probe (TRUS) 4) Semen analysis and semen culture . 5) If required he may advise Endoscopic examination of urethral passage and Bladder (Cystoscopy) . Please start taking broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefotaxime and Amikacin twice daily and switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.Since Prostatitis takes long time to get cured you will need to take antibiotics for 4-6 weeks. Ensure to drink more water. To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria. Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions , I shall be happy to help you Thanks and Regards. Dr.Patil.
