What Causes Painful Bump On Inner Labia?

default
Posted on Fri, 13 Mar 2015
Question: attached pics... Herpes? It hurts more now after ive popped it. I have had a single bump on my inner labia for a few days now. It hurts when I touch it. I popped it yesterday after having to use a good amout of force. A little white stuff came out with clear fluid and blood. It felt better. Then it was puffy again lastnight so I took a hot bath. After my bath It looked like it needed to be popped again so I did. At first it was clear liquid and blood a then i went deeper with more force I got a small hard white nodule. I have no other symptoms. And it doesn't look like herpes... Could it still be?!

Brief Answer:
Its not herpes. Bacterial inflammation is the reason.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Its not Herpes for sure. What you have is a kind of bacterial inflammation which has caused an abscess in this area. Due to pus presence you get pain and swelling. Popping it is a kind of correct path to heal it. But to make it more effective the pus should be drained. To do that, small incision might be necessary and antibiotics treatment.
I suggest you to consult gynecologist with this issue.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

Thank you! What a relief. What could have caused it? I workout a lot and sweat a lot when i do... I try to shower right away after. Could it be from that?!

Brief Answer:
Hair follicle inflammation can be the case.

Detailed Answer:
Shaving of that area can be the most probable reason. If in this spot there was a hair before, hair follicle inflammation is the case. Sweating can be the factor of bacteria growth as well. So yes, this could be from that as well.
Keeping this area clean and dry, using sterile shaver can prevent from further infections in this area.
