Question: I often have pain in my upper thighs if I rub them. What causes this?
It is only on the outer thigh but when I put a little pressure on my leg with my fingers, it hurts.

Brief Answer:
Two possibilities.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to health care magic. I am Dr. Ganesh.

1.The first possible cause could be skin inflammatory reaction which is causing pain on rubbing.

2.The Second possible cause is nerve compression in the spinal region or hip joint causing pain when applied pressure on your leg.

3.Initially as a remedy try to do some back exercises that will help to ease of the symptoms.

4.If symptoms persists, first need to examine the location and x-ray lumbar spine and hip joint ( the side where it is painful).

5.Suggest to try back exercises, if you have any soreness of the skin then it needs to examine - get an appointment with your GP and get examined and needful treatment.

Good luck.
