What Causes Pain In The Temples While On Tylenol?

Question: Yesterday I was rushing around and ran into side of door, hitting my temple. It's been 36 hours. Today I woke up with headache and my temples are still throbbing despite taking Tylenol. Also the right temple I hit is extremely tender to the touch and aggravates my headache. I did not pass out or throw up, no other symptoms other than headache and temple pain. Do I just wait this out since it's been 36 hours?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There is a set of criteria called the New Orleans Criteria that determine if a CT scan of the brain is needed after minor head injury.

It is only applied if there has been loss of consciousness, amnesia or if the person has been seen to be disoriented.

Since there was no history of loss of consciousness/fainting or memory loss or disorientation then you can monitor unless the symptoms worsen (Eg memory loss, blurred vision, disorientation, loss of balance , excess drowsiness)

You can continue the tylenol, use a warm compress to the area at least twice daily for 15 to 20 mins.
Rest, if possible, would also be important.
