What Causes Pain In The Shoulder When Diagnosed With Arthritis?

default
Posted on Tue, 23 May 2017
Question: Several months ago I saw an orthopedic surgeon about pain in my left shoulder. After taking x-rays he pronounced it arthritis and offered choices of drugs and or injections for relief. We settled on a 15mg prescription of meloxicam for sixty days. The script ended about 15 days ago and my pain is even worse than it was before. Any suggestions on what type of doctor I should see next?

Brief Answer:
You can Consult a Rheumatologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As there is no positive response with your Orthopaedician, you better consult a Rheumatologist.
In my opinion, pain could be due to degenerative changes in the shoulder joint.
Apart from Arthritis, TORN CARTILAGE,TORN ROTATOR CUFF,BONY SPURS can cause shoulder pain.
MRI of the affected joint will confirm the diagnosis.
Till investigation, you can take analgesic tablet containing TRAMADOL and PARACETAMOL twice daily after food.
Physiotherapy will be helpful.
Please consult a Rheumatologist and proceed further.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
