Brief Answer:
Please specify the location of pain, is it in the joints or vagina?

Detailed Answer:

Hello Mr XXXXXXX,

It is not clear if the pain is limited to one of the joints in the leg or involves multiple joints, and if so, which particular joints, is it ankle joint or knee joint, or one of the toe joints.

Also please clarify if your wife has pain in the vagina, if yes, when does she feel this pain, and is there any discharge from the vagina?

Does she have any fever?

Is there any itching in the vaginal area?

Did she sprain her ankle? Did she hurt herself in the leg?

For the time being, you can give hot compress (Wrap a hot water bottle in a towel and place it on the painful joint).

For vaginal pain, she needs to clean the vaginal area with warm water and soap.

If she develops any fever and or vaginal discharge, then she needs to consult her obstetrician and get examined to rule out infection.

Please write back to me with the details requested and I will guide you further.

Brief Answer:
Sounds like urinary tract infection needs further evaluation.

Detailed Answer:

Hello Mr XXXXXXX,

Thank you for clarifying. However, your current description needs a direct physical examination.

I request you to please take your wife to her obstetrician for a physical examination in person.

Infections during pregnancy need to be managed properly otherwise they may cause premature delivery.

Ask your wife to drink adequate amounts of water.

Consult your obstetrician and get a urine routine examination and urine culture and sensitivity done to rule out infection.

Hope I have answered your query.

Wishing your wife a speedy recovery.

Regards,
Dr. Yogesh D, General & Family Physician
