Posted on Thu, 10 Nov 2016
Question: I have metal plates in my pelvis, hips, knees and forearm from a motorcycle accident in 2010. I have been in pain ever since. My doctor prescriber Percoset which eased the pain. The doctor has now told me no more pain meds. I have called approximately 50 doctors for pain management and nobody will see me. I am not able to get injections because of all of the plates. I am in constant pain 24/7.

Brief Answer:
Nerve blocks. Joint injections. Joint replacement.

Detailed Answer:
Ho there.

Where exactly do you have pain?

Any difficulty in sleeping?

Are you able to walk around and lift weights?

If you have localised pain, nerve blocks can help in the pain management.

If you have arthritis, it could require different injections or joint replacement.

If there is infection, then the plates may need to be removed.

Do answer the questions above to help me get a better picture on how to help you with this problem.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Brief Answer:
Alternative pain management

Detailed Answer:
You can try alternative methods of pain management like Acupuncture. Opioids will cause side effects so isn't recommended.
