I have had four prescriptions as well as baking soda, salt and water and nothing works.Even toothpaste or bioten burns.
Do you have any suggestions?
As you know many cancer patients have trouble with their appetite and use liquid products such as ensure and boost. The problem is they are full of sugar.
I dont know if you have ever heard of a tropical drink called a pina colada.Coconut cream, pineapple and ice in a blender.
It taste great and is very healthy
I am hoping when I go to XXXXXXX XXXXXXX to see a liver expert he will be able to operate so I can at least have some quality of life.
BRAF colon cancer is immune to many chemo drugs. Is it possible back last XXXXXXX when the biopsy showed this that it many have changed? The doctor told me then I had six months to live.It already has been 10.Should they not do another biopsy?
Thank you,
follow-up consultation
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome back. Sorry for the delay in my response.
I am not familiar with mouth issue and it would be good to see dentist or ENT doctor for further evaluation since there may be some specific reason behind it but also it may be side effect of chemo.
Regarding to the other thing, the biopsy is not required since BRAF is related to molecular and genetic features of tumor and it doesn't change over the time, so it will be always BRAF positive. I hope for good news about surgery too.
Let me know about their decision. It is difficult to predict survival for these tumors and it depends on many factors so you should just give your best and don't focus on the theoretical rates alone. It may always range from few months to few years and even in BRAF tumors, there may be a period of slow progression.

Without surgery my oncologist gives me 2-4 years. If surgery is successful should be more?
XXXXXXX
Not sure
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
It is hard to say. But 2-4 years is pretty optimistic for stage 4 and if this is right, then I am not sure if surgery is optimal option. but I think that prognosis is less than a year. surgery carry huge perioperative risk and complications but if it is successful,it may lead longer period survival, 4,5 years or even be curable.
I am confused. You say 2-4 years is optimistic for stage four and you are not sure surgery is the optimal option but even so prognosis less than one year. You then say if surgery is successful survival can be 4-5 years??
I do not understand

Hi
Detailed Answer:
I am saying that surgery may provide better survival than 2-4 years, but on the other hand,it has significant risks and complication rate. if your oncologist consider that you can count for 2-4 years more then in this case I don't think you should undergo surgery since it may provide just a bit better survival in case of success and there is high perioperative risk. But I don't agree with your oncologist prognosis...
